Adding Shared Users
As a Ring device owner, you can pick and choose which of your Ring devices you want to share with someone. This person is called a Shared User.
- You have the option to share one or more Ring devices – including your Ring Video Doorbells, Security Cameras and Alarm.
- When you successfully add a Shared User, this person will receive an email notification that they can accept when signed in to their Ring account.
How to add a Shared User in the Ring app
Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
- Tap themenu (☰).
- TapControl Centre.
- TapShared Users.
- TapManagenext to the location you want to add a Shared User.
- TapAdd User.
- Tap onShared User.
- Type in your Shared User's email address.
- Select the Ring device(s) you want to share.
- TapSend Invite.
The recipient will receive an email where they will need to accept your invite.

Accepting Shared User access from the Ring email invitation
Did someone share their Ring device(s) with you? You should have received an email from Ring that is valid for 7 days.
- Open the Shared User email from Ring.
- Click theManage Accessbutton.
- When logged in:
- On a computer: ClickAccountat the top of the page.
- On mobile: Tap the topmenu(☰).
- ClickControl Centre.
- ClickShared Users.
- Under Locations (Shared), clickManagenext to the pending invitation.
- ClickAccept.
- Open the Ring app.
- Tap the caret icon (▼) at the top of the screen.
- Select the Location that was shared with you.
It could take up to 15 minutes for shared access to show in your Ring app.
Accepting Shared User access in the Ring app
Did someone share their Ring device(s) with you? If you already have a Ring account, you can accept this invite in the Ring app. Invitations are valid for 7 days.
Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
- Tap themenu (☰).
- TapControl Centre.
- Under Locations (Shared), tapManagenext to the pending invitation.
- TapAccept.
It could take up to 15 minutes for shared access to show in your Ring app.
How to remove a Shared User in the Ring app
As device owner, you can remove shared Access for one, some or all of the Ring devices you previously shared.
Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
- Tap themenu (☰).
- TapControl Centre.
- TapShared Users.
- TapManagenext to the location where you want to remove shared access.
- Select the Shared User you want to remove.
- You have the option turn off shared access for one or some Ring devices, orRemove Userentirely.
- TapSave(or Remove) to confirm your selection.
