Ring Alarm Panic Button allows Ring Alarm owners to immediately trigger a notification of an emergency to account owners and Shared Users.

What is the Ring Alarm Panic Button?

The Ring Alarm Panic Button is a compact, wall-mountable button which, when held for three seconds or more, will send a message to the Ring Alarm Base Station. After receiving the signal from the Panic Button, the Ring Alarm Base Station will sound Ring Alarm's sirens. If you are subscribed to a Ring plan and Assisted Monitoring1 for your Alarm, your Panic Button can also trigger calls to you and your emergency contacts whenever pressed. How can I test my Panic Button without the monitoring centre calling my emergency contacts?

IMPORTANT: If you have a Panic Button and test it without turning off Assisted Monitoring, your emergency contacts will receive a call from the monitoring centre.

First, put your Ring Alarm in self-monitored mode in the Ring app:

To test, press the button for 3 seconds. When you press the button, the siren will sound. To turn off the siren, open the Ring app and tap Disarm or enter your pin on the Keypad and press the Disarm button.

Once your test is complete, change your Alarm back to Assisted Monitoring.

Can I add multiple Panic Buttons to my Ring Alarm?

Yes. Your Ring Alarm can support and connect multiple Panic Buttons.

Can I install my Panic Button outside?

No. Alarm Panic Button is designed for indoor use only.

How is Alarm Panic Button powered?

Alarm Panic Button is powered using two lithium CR2032 batteries. Since Alarm Panic Button has no power cord, it can be placed anywhere it's needed as long as it is within 76 metres of the Base Station.

How long does the battery last?

Expected battery life is up to three years with the included batteries. Battery life is dependent on usage, environment and other factors.

What are the dimensions?

Alarm Panic Button is 6.2 cm in diameter and 2.1 cm in height.

How far can my Panic Button be from the Base Station?

Your Panic Button should be placed within 76 metres of your Ring Alarm Base Station. If necessary, use a Ring Alarm Range Extender. The Range Extender can be plugged directly into an outlet, ideally between your Base Station and Panic Button.

What is the operating temperature for the Panic Button?

The battery has a temperature range of 0-40 degrees celsius.

Can I use my Panic Button without a Ring Alarm?

No. Alarm Panic Button will only operate with a Ring Alarm Base Station.

Where can I place my Panic Button?

Place Alarm Panic Button in any area of your home where you feel it may be needed in an emergency. This means you can mount it to the wall next to the bed, place it on the desk in an office, or keep it any other area of the home where you might want an extra bit of peace of mind. With a Panic Button in the room, you’ll know that in the event of an emergency you can sound the alarm and request help immediately.

Note: Do not place your Panic Button near water. Keep in mind that Alarm Panic Button is only intended for indoor use.

How do I use my Panic Button?

In the event of an emergency, you must open the safety cover, then press and hold the button for 3 seconds. After holding the button for 3 seconds, your Panic Button will send a signal to your Ring Alarm Base Station. The Base Station and Keypad siren will sound (for panic and fire signals only) and the Ring account owner and Shared Users will receive a push notification. If you use Assisted Monitoring, Ring account owner and emergency contacts will receive a call from the monitoring centre.

Is there a Panic Button function on the Ring Alarm keypad?

Will my Panic Button set off the alarm whether or not the Ring Alarm is armed?

Yes. Pressing your Panic Button will result in an alarm no matter what mode the Ring Alarm Base Station is in.

How do I replace my Panic Button battery?

Important: Always insert replacement batteries correctly, matching the + (positive) and - (negative) symbols on the battery with the symbols.

1. Disarm your Ring Alarm.
2. Remove the back cover from the device by twisting the lid counter-clockwise until the top line moves to the unlock symbol.
3. Use a small tool, such as a micro screwdriver, to carefully remove the coin cell batteries from the casing of your Panic Button.
4. Insert two new coin cell batteries (CR2032), taking care to match + and - symbols with the markings on your Panic Button.
5. Replace the cover securely, twisting the cover on clockwise until it locks in place.
