Locations in the Ring app
Learn more about the Locations function in the Ring app and group your Ring devices by their physical location.
All devices, Ring subscriptions, and videos are tied to a specific location and can’t be shared between locations. If you have a number of Ring Security Cameras at both your home and your place of business, you would group these devices into "Home" and "Business" locations.
When you want to check on the status of a business camera, you can view devices at that particular location.

Frequently asked questions
Do Ring subscriptions cover devices in multiple Locations, or do I need separate plans?

Why does the Ring app ask what type of Location I have?
Different types of locations have access to different services and benefits.
Is there any limit to the number of Locations I can have on one Ring account?
The limit depends on your setup. Most accounts can support up to 10 individual Locations.
Can I add a device to any Location?
You can add a camera or doorbell to any Location. Go to that Location, then add the device in the Ring app.
Can I move a device between Locations?
You can move a camera or doorbell between any Location.
Does the Ring app give me access to Live View video from cameras at all of my Locations?
Yes, you are able to access all of the cameras that are currently attached to your Ring app account by simply switching between Locations.
Can two people each have a Location with the same address?
Yes. Locations are specific to each Ring account. Also, flats within the same building are considered separate Locations.
Can I specify which types of alert to receive from each Location?
Yes. When you select a Location in the Ring app, any changes you make to alert settings are specific to that Location.
What if I accidentally subscribed to an additional Location and need to remove it?
Locations can be deleted. When a Location is deleted, the plan is also cancelled. Contact Customer Support to help you with this issue.
Do I need to download my videos before moving a device from one Location to another?
If your Ring device covered with a Ring Basic Plan, your videos will remain. If your device is on any other plan, you will need to download your videos before moving the device.
If you are moving and bringing all your Ring devices with you, you can simply edit your Location and your Ring devices will remain covered with your existing Ring subscription.
Can I get a refund if I remove a Location that I subscribed to?
