Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus has reached the natural end of its lifecycle and is now being replaced in our product line-up by the more advanced wireless video doorbells, such as Ring Video Doorbell 4.

What's the difference between Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus and previous generations of video doorbell?
Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus has all the same great features of the Ring Video Doorbell and Ring Video Doorbell 2. The difference is it adds a number of new features on top of them. These include:
- Dual band wifi that works on both 2.4 GHz and 5GHz networks
- 1080p HD video with night vision
- Two-way talk with noise cancellation
- Pre-Roll

Do I need to replace my Ring Video Doorbell or Ring Video Doorbell 2 with Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus?
No. Ring Video Doorbell and Ring Video Doorbell 2 will continue to work as normal and will continue to be supported by Ring.
Does Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus work with other Ring devices?
Yes. Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus works with any other device created by Ring and can perform all the functions expected of a video doorbell in a security system.
Does Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus work with Alexa?
Yes. Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus is completely compatible with Echo devices.

Compatibility & usage
Is Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus backwards compatible with the mounting brackets, solar mounts, charging cables and wedge/corner kits from earlier generations of the Ring Video Doorbell?
Video Doorbell 3 Plus is compatible with earlier Video Doorbell’s charging cables. Earlier mounting brackets and wedge/corner kits are not compatible but new versions will be provided in the Video Doorbell 3 Plus box. Solar mounts are not optimised for Video Doorbell 3 Plus and a new version is now available for purchase.
An adaptor plate and screws are available to allow you to upgrade from your original Ring Video Doorbell to a Ring Video Doorbell 3, 3 Plus or 4 without the need to drill new holes.
Is Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus weather resistant?
Yes. Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus is weather resistant.
Can Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus withstand hot or cold temperatures?
Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus is rated for temperatures ranging from -20 degrees C to 48 degrees C.

Recommended minimum upload speed is 2 mbps per device.
Data usage and recording plans
Does the Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus use data all the time or just when it's activated?
Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus will only use data when it’s activated by an event, recording an event, or when you access Live View via the Ring app. If Video Doorbell 3 Plus doesn’t detect motion or isn’t activated with the app, it won’t use your data.
Does Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus keep footage for later review?
It can, however, this requires a subscription to Ring Protect plan, an optional service that allows you to view, save and share video.

Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus can be adjusted to point in directions other than straight forward through the use of a wedge or corner kit.

Yes, a 1-year limited warranty. If you are a consumer, the limited warranty is in addition to your consumer rights, and does not jeopardise these rights in any way. This means you may still have additional rights at law even after the limited warranty has expired.
