Ring Video Doorbell (1st Generation) has reached the natural end of its lifecycle and has been replaced by Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation).

The Ring Video Doorbell connects to existing doorbell wiring or runs off the built-in rechargeable battery. It lasts up to six months on a single charge with regular use.

Which doorbells is Ring Doorbell compatible with?

Ring Doorbell is compatible with most mechanical or digital doorbell kits that use transformers between 8 and 24 volts AC. DC transformers are not supported.

What wifi networks is Ring Video Doorbell compatible with?

Ring Video Doorbell is compatible with 802.11 b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 gHz frequencies. Ring recommends WPA2 wifi security.

What is the recommended internet speed for Ring Video Doorbell?

For best streaming performance, 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.

Data usage and recording plans

Does Ring Video Doorbell use data all the time or just when it's activated?

Ring Video Doorbell will only use data when it’s activated by a motion or when you access the Live View. If Ring Video Doorbell doesn’t detect motion or isn’t activated with the app, it won’t use your data.

Does Ring Video Doorbell keep footage for later review?

It can, if you have a subscription to Ring Protect, an optional service that allows you to view, save and share your videos.

Does Ring Video Doorbell have a warranty?

Yes, a 1-year limited warranty. If you are a consumer, the limited warranty is in addition to your consumer rights, and does not jeopardise these rights in any way. This means you may still have additional rights at law even after the limited warranty has expired. Learn more here.

What is Ring's refund policy?

You have 30 days from the date you received your device(s) to request a full refund. You are responsible for covering the cost of return shipping.

What if someone steals my Video Doorbell?

If stolen, we will replace it for free.
