Does Ring Video Doorbell Pro use a diode for digital doorbell kits?

No. A diode should not be used with Ring Video Doorbell Pro. A bypass kit is required instead. See instructions for installation and use.

Is my existing doorbell compatible with the Ring Video Doorbell Pro?

The Ring Video Doorbell Pro is not compatible with existing wired doorbells in Europe. To ensure a doorbell “sound”, use a Ring Chime or Chime Pro.

Compatible doorbell transformers

For your safety, only use an existing doorbell transformer within the range specified below or compatible Ring accessories to power your device.

For connecting to an existing doorbell system:

- Hardwired transformer (16 to 24 VAC, 50/60Hz, 10VA to 40VA)

Ring accessories are sold separately and may include:

- DIN Rail Transformer (24Vdc, 420mA)

- Plug-In Adapter (24Vdc, 500mA)

Not compatible with: third-party DC adapters, halogen transformers and garden-lighting transformers. Using incompatible power sources can damage your device and cause electric shock.

What wifi networks is Ring Video Doorbell Pro compatible with?

Ring Video Doorbell Pro is compatible with 802.11 b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequencies.

An upload speed of 2 Mbps per device is recommended for optimal performance.

Will Ring Video Doorbell Pro on a 5GHz network work with my Ring Chime on a 2.4GHz network?

Yes. Ring Chime will only work on a 2.4GHz network, however Ring Chime does not need to be on the same network as Ring Video Doorbell or Ring Video Doorbell Pro.  

Does Video Doorbell Pro use data all the time or just when it's activated?

Video Doorbell Pro uses a wifi connection. The Ring app will only use cellular data when you answer an event or access a recording or Live View while not connected to wifi.

Does Ring Video Doorbell Pro keep footage for later review?

It can, however, this requires a subscription to Ring Protect plan, an optional service that allows you to view, save, and share video.

How do the Camera Motion Zones work for Ring Video Doorbell Pro?

Draw a box around the area you wish to monitor, then save the setting. Additional custom zones can be created, then each enabled or disabled for total control of motion detection.

Does Ring Video Doorbell Pro have a warranty?

Yes, a 1-year limited warranty and theft protection.

What is Ring's refund policy?

You have 30 days from the date you received your device(s) to request a full refund. You are responsible for covering the cost of return shipping.

Does Ring Doorbell Pro operate on battery power?

No, Ring Doorbell Pro is designed to be powered by the provided transformer.
