Using the adapter plate included with your Ring Video Doorbell 2

If you have the previous version of the Ring Video Doorbell and you would like to replace it with a Ring Video Doorbell 2, the included adapter plate will allow you to install it in the same location without having to drill new holes in your wall.

Note that you should setup your Ring Video Doorbell 2 in your Ring app before mounting it to your door. Click here for information on setting up your Ring Video Doorbell 2.

1. Remove your original Ring Video Doorbell

Once you have removed the original Ring doorbell and mounting plate, place the adapter plate with it's smaller side (or the beveled edge) facing the wall.

2. Use the original drill holes

You can line up the holes in the adapter plate with the holes left behind from your original Ring mounting bracket. Then use the install screws to attach the adapter plate to the wall.

3. Pull the existing doorbell wires through the middle of the adapter alate

Note that this step is only used if you are wiring your Ring Doorbell 2.

4. Tighten the short screws

Please note that the short screws are not the security screws used to fasten the Ring Doorbell 2 to the wall.
