SAFETY INFORMATION

READ ALL SAFETY INFORMATION BEFORE USING THE DEVICE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR OTHER INJURY OR DAMAGE.

Your device does not have an on or off button. If you wish to stop power from flowing into your device, unplug the power cord. Do not plug multiple electric devices into the same wall socket. Overloading a socket can cause it to overheat and may result in a fire.

CAUTION: For use only on a branch circuit protected by a Class A type Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI).

When used outdoors, install only to a covered Class A GFCI protected receptacle that is weatherproof with the power unit connected to the receptacle. If one is not provided, contact a qualified electrician for proper installation.

BATTERY SAFETY

HANDLE WITH CARE. Your device contains lithium-ion rechargable batteries. Use only the provided charger and charging cables. Use of an unqualified battery or charger may present a risk of fire, explosion, shock, chemical leakage, or other hazard. If battery replacement becomes necessary, use only a new lithium-ion rechargable battery expressly qualified for use with your device.

Do not attempt to open, disassemble, modify, or remanufacture the battery, attempt to insert foreign objects into the battery, or immerse or expose it to water, other liquids, fire, explosion, or other hazards. To avoid short-circuiting a battery, do not allow battery terminals to touch metallic conductive objects or other battery terminals. Avoid dropping the device or battery. Do not crush or puncture the battery. Watch for signs of faulty batteries, including swelling, dents, and tears in the battery wrapper. If you suspect damage to the device or battery, do not attempt repair. Instead, remove batteries from your device and contact Ring Customer Service for assistance.

Only charge your batteries inside a building, in a dry state and using the supplied charging cable.

Other Safety Considerations

Your device [and adapter] can withstand outdoor use and contact with water under certain conditions. However, your device is not intended for underwater use and may experience temporary effects from exposure to water. Do not immerse your device in water. Do not spill any food, oil, lotion, or other abrasive substances on your device. Do not expose your device to pressurized water, high velocity water, or extremely humid conditions (such as a steam room). Do not expose your device or batteries to salt water or other conductive liquids. To protect against electric shock, do not place cord, plug, or device in water or other liquids. If your device gets wet from immersion in water or high pressure water, carefully disconnect all cables without getting your hands wet and wait for them to dry completely before powering it on again. Do not attempt to dry your device or batteries (if applicable) with an external heat source, such as a microwave oven or a hair dryer. To avoid risk of electric shock, do not touch your device or batteries or any wires connected to your device during a lightning storm while your device is powered. If your device or batteries appears to be damaged, discontinue use immediately.

Protect your device from direct sunlight.

Use only accessories supplied with your device, or specifically marketed for use with your device, to power your device. Use of third-party accessories may impact your device’s performance. In limited circumstances, use of third-party accessories may void your device’s limited warranty. In addition, use of incompatible third-party accessories may cause damage to your device or the third-party accessory. Read all safety instructions for any accessories before using with your device.

Don’t expose your device to steam, extreme heat or cold. Use your device in a location where temperatures remain within the device’s operating temperature range set forth in this guide. Your device may get warm during normal use.

WARNING: Small parts contained in your device and its accessories may present a choking hazard to small children.

Following periods of extended use, the Spotlight Cam may feel hot to touch. Please wait 15 minutes after the Spotlight Cam is no longer in use before touching or moving.

Do not install on circuits feeding motor loads such as kitchen appliances, HVAC equipment, washer/dryer or garage door openers.

Do not install when it is raining.

Do not stare directly at the LEDs for more than a few seconds to avoid eye injury.

CAUTION: When mounting this device in elevated locations, use precautions to ensure that the device does not fall and harm bystanders.
