Setting up Multi-Door support with Ring Intercom
What to know
Ring Intercom's Multi-Door support lets you receive calls from and unlock multiple entrances in your apartment building. This feature is available for select buildings with compatible intercom systems. You must add all additional entrances during the initial setup.
Multi-Door support requirements
Before you can set up multiple entrances, your building must meet these requirements:
- Your apartment handset has a single shared unlock button that works across multiple entrances. Ring Intercom does not support handsets with separate physical unlock buttons for different entrances.
- Your intercom system's make, model, and configuration are compatible with Ring Intercom. Ring recommendsbefore purchasing.
Important note: Not all intercom systems are compatible with Multi-Door support. Compatibility depends on your specific intercom configuration.
What you can do with Multi-Door support
When your building and intercom system are supported, Multi-Door support lets you:
- Receive calls from multiple supported entrances and unlock the door for guests or visitors.
- Unlock supported entrances for yourself using Ring-to-Open.

Multi-Door support does not currently allow you to select a specific entrance to unlock from the Ring app without an active call.
How to add multiple entrances during setup
To add additional entrances during the testing phase of Ring Intercom setup:
- Start Ring Intercom setup in the Ring app and proceed to the testing phase.
- Go to the entrance you want to add.
- Press the call button at that entrance.
- Wait for Ring Intercom to verify it can recognise the call and unlock the door.
- Repeat steps two to for for each additional entrance you want to configure.
Important note: Add all your entrances during setup. You cannot add entrances after setup is complete. If you skip this step, you must remove your Ring Intercom and set it up again to add additional entrances later.
Troubleshooting Multi-Door support
Ring Intercom does not offer the option to add another entrance
If Ring Intercom does not offer the option to add another entrance during setup, your building or intercom configuration might not be compatible with Multi-Door support. If you have confirmed your building uses a single shared unlock button, and Ring Intercom still does not offer the option to add additional entrances, contact Ring Customer Support.
You skipped adding an entrance during setup
If you skipped adding an entrance during the initial setup process, remove your Ring Intercom device and set it up again to configure additional entrances. If you have removed and reinstalled Ring Intercom but are still unable to add an entrance during setup, contact Ring Customer Support.
You are unable to validate an additional entrance
If Ring Intercom cannot validate an additional entrance, this might be because:
- Your intercom system is not currently supported for Multi-Door Support.
- Your building uses separate physical unlock buttons for different entrances.
