What's the difference between Virtual Security Guard, Ring Protect Pro and Professional Monitoring?
Ring Protect Pro and Ring Protect Plus (1st Gen) are subscription services that allow you to review, share, and save videos captured by your Ring device and opt-in to Alarm Professional Monitoring.
Alarm Professional monitoring provides you 24/7 on-demand police, fire, or medical support when break-ins or any other security threat is detected by your Ring Alarm sensors at your business.
Virtual Security Guard5 is a subscription service that can be added to your Ring Protect Pro Plan and provides live monitoring of camera motion events for the compatible, enrolled cameras at your business.
While Alarm Professional Monitoring provides monitoring for your Ring Alarm sensors, Virtual Security Guard allows Rapid Response agents to actually see what's happening on your cameras and take action if needed. When Virtual Security Guard is active and a person is detected, Rapid Response agents will monitor and take action on that event. If a Ring Alarm sensor is triggered while Virtual Security Guard is active, the Alarm monitoring agent will follow the response settings you've customized in your Professional Monitoring Settings.
To enroll in Virtual Security Guard, you need a compatible Ring Protect subscription that allows you to enroll in Alarm Professional Monitoring, which is a requirement for operating the service.
Can Ring devices be used both inside and outside my business?
Yes! Our Video Doorbells, Security Cameras and Alarm products can be used both inside and outside your business. Remember, our Terms of Service and certain jurisdictions require that you provide notice of the use of cameras at your property.
