Advanced Audio Settings for Ring Intercom
Use the Advanced Audio Settings in the Ring app for more control over your Ring Intercom's audio. Your Ring Intercom has default audio settings depending on your intercom model. Sometimes, your building’s wiring and the positioning of the lobby panel may mean you still hear echo, low audio volume, background noise and electrical interference. To address this, you can adjust the following Advanced Audio Settings for your Ring Intercom:
- Reduce Echo:Changes the level of Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) to prevent feedback between the lobby microphone and speaker. Higher levels reduce echo but may impact clarity and volume. Lower levels may result in more echoing. We recommended using the default setting, but increasing the level if you hear an echo.
- Visitor Speech Volume Booster:Changes the volume of a visitor’s speech from the lobby microphone, and can be used with Microphone Sensitivity (under Volume Settings) to boost the volume. Higher levels increase the microphone's sensitivity to quieter sounds and the volume of the visitor’s speech, but may increase background noise.
- Amplifier Type:Changes the configuration of the Ring Intercom audio amplifier, and can help with electrical noise if the default setting isn't a good match for your building. If you hear electrical hisses, hums, and other interference in the audio, try the different presets. Changing the Amplifier Type can also help increase audio volume.
Note: There are 8 presets total. Depending on your model of intercom, some presets may not be available. Amplifier Type presets
