Requesting Access with Ring In

Requesting Access with Ring In Use your mobile device to view the directory, make a call, and request access.

  1. Unlock your mobile device and hold it near the Ring In panel for a few seconds.
  2. Search the directory by name or unit number. If the person you’re trying to reach isn’t listed, contact them directly.
  3. Tap the phone icon to start a video call.
  4. Speak to the person and request access to the property.

Make sure your iOS or Android device has an NFC tag reader

iOS devices

iPhone 11 series and newer, XS series, SE (2nd and 3rd Gens)
Your mobile device automatically works with Ring In
iPhone X, 8 / 8+, 7 / 7+
Follow these steps to turn on your NFC tag reader and use Ring In:
1. Open
Settings
on your mobile device.
2. Tap
Control Center
, then tap the
minus sign
(-) next to “NFC Tag Reader” to change it to a
plus sign
(+).
iPhone 6 / 6+ / 6S / 6S+ / SE (1st Gen), 5 / 5S, 5C, 4 / 4S, 3G / 3GS
Your mobile device is not compatible with Ring In. To request access, contact the resident directly.

Android devices

  1. Go to
    Settings
    on your mobile device.
  2. Search for “NFC”.
  3. Turn on the
    Use NFC
    setting. If you don’t see it, your mobile device may not be compatible to use NFC and will not work with Ring In. To request access, contact the resident directly.
