Linking Ring Devices to Chime

Ring Chime can be plugged in and set up to provide audible alerts for Ring doorbells and cameras whenever motion is detected or a doorbell’s button is pressed.

How to turn on Chime Alerts

Once you've set up your Chime in the Ring app, follow these steps to link it to your Ring device(s):

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

  2. Tap the Chime or Chime Pro tile under Devices.

  3. Tap your device's Settings.

  4. Tap
    Audio Settings
    .
  5. Tap
    Chime Alerts
    .
  6. Tap the
    Motion
    icon beneath each doorbell or camera that you want to link to your Chime to enable it to play a notification sound when motion is detected.
    • For doorbells, you can also tap the
      Bell
      icon to enable your Chime to play a notification sound when someone rings the doorbell.

All of your devices can be set individually to have alerts set on or off.

How to change Chime Tones

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

  2. Tap the Chime or Chime Pro tile under Devices.

  3. Tap your device's Settings.

  4. Tap
    Audio Settings.
  5. Tap
    Chime Tones.
  6. Select the tone you want to play when motion is detected or someone rings your doorbell.
    • If needed, you can also adjust the volume of the Chime Tones.

Chime still not ringing?

Your Chime may have fallen offline. Make sure your device is connected via Device Health.
