Who can set up a Neighbors Verified account

Neighbors Verified serves as a tool for local organizations to make neighborhoods safer and more connected. Our policy outlines the eligibility criteria for organizations wishing to join Neighbors as a Verified Account, including:

Local Government (City and County)

Verified accounts are available to City and County government organizations and their internal departments, except for committees, task forces, districts, and elected officials.

Public Safety (City and County)

Select Public Safety departments and divisions within City and County are eligible to setup a Neighbors Verified account.

  • City/County Law Enforcements

    )
  • City/County Fire Departments
    (
    e.g. Friendstown Fire Department, Friendstown Fire Marshal’s Office, Friendstown Emergency Management Agency
    )

Community Organizations (Local)

Organizations that are looking to connect with residents in their immediate area and meet all of the following requirements below may be eligible for a Neighbors Verified account. While we value all community organizations, this particular program is not open to political, religious, or activist groups:

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must exclusively serve at local city/county level or smaller (local chapters of national organizations are permitted)
  • Must have a public website with a published contact phone number
  • Must be a registered 501(c)(3) organization
  • Must maintain an established physical business location within the claimed service area
  • Provides local community services or goods (e.g.: meal assistance, housing support, educational programs, health services, etc)

Examples include:

  • Community Centers (e.g. Friendstown Recreation and Community Center)
  • Animal Rescues/Shelters (e.g. Friendstown Animal Shelter, Friendstown Humane Society)
  • Local Non-Profit Organizations (e.g. Friendstown Food Bank, Friendstown Disability Services)
  • Public School Districts (e.g. Friendstown Public School District)
