2K resolution is an enhanced video feature that could:

On 2K devices, data usage settings are configured per camera. You can set different levels for different devices based on their location and your needs in the Ring app.

Manage data usage on 2K devices

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

  2. Tap more (•••) on the camera you want to access.

  3. Tap your device's Settings.

  4. Tap the Device Settings tile.

  5. Tap
    Video Settings
    for resolution options to resolve data usage.
    • This setting is only available on the Indoor Cam Plus and the Outdoor Cam Plus.

Understanding the Bitrate Indicator on 4K cameras

Ring cameras with 4K will show a Bitrate Indicator in the top right corner of a live view of an event.

The Bitrate Indicator will display as a red or green color indicator with a bitrate number in Mbps. This is a number to help understand network conditions and how they impact your video quality2.
