What is Two-Step Verification?

Two-Step Verification is a security feature that helps keep your account secure and prevents unauthorized users from gaining access. With every new sign-in to your Verified Account, you will need to enter two pieces of information — your password and the six-digit verification code. The six-digit code expires after 10 minutes.

How to Switch Two-Step Verification from Email to Text Message

1. Log in to publicsafety.ring.com

2. Click on My Profile

3. Scroll down to Account Verification and select Text Message

Yes, Two-Step Verification is mandatory for all Verified Account personnel.

Do I need to verify each time I log in?

You only need to verify with a code if you're signing in from a new device or haven't selected "Remember this browser." This option allows for easier access from trusted devices.

The verification code for both email and SMS expires after 10 minutes for added security.

What if I can't access the phone associated with my account?

If you can't access the phone linked to your account, contact the Ring Team at publicsafetysupport@ring.com to reset this back to email.
