Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries lets verified drivers bring your Amazon packages securely inside your building.

What is Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries?

Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries lets you provide delivery drivers with time-bound, verified building access, to bring Amazon packages for them and their neighbors, safely inside the building. When activated, this enables Amazon packages¹ to be delivered securely inside the building, removing the need to wait at home for parcel deliveries. For an added layer of security, Amazon verifies the driver via multi-step authentication before granting them temporary one-time access to the building. You can deactivate Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries via the Ring app at any time.

¹ Amazon works with a number of carriers to make sure you receive your items as fast possible. Only orders delivered by Amazon Logistics are eligible for Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries.

How does Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries work?

Once you set up your Ring Intercom device and enable Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries² all residents in their building will also receive verified, time-bound Amazon deliveries inside the building, the next time you or your neighbors order a parcel from Amazon:

  1. The delivery driver will arrive at your building entrance with the Amazon parcels for delivery.
  2. They will request entry to the building via the Amazon Delivery App, which will authenticate the driver, route and time of request.
  3. Once verified, the delivery driver will get time-bound access to the building. Verified means they have a parcel and they are at your building within the designated time frame. If they’re not verified, no access will be given.
  4. Once inside the building, the driver will deliver the parcel according to the instructions provided in the recipient’s Amazon account. If you’d prefer the driver to deliver the parcel to a safe space so your delivery is completely interaction-free, make sure to specify this in your Amazon delivery instructions.
  5. The driver will exit the building. Once delivery is complete and their time-bound access has expired, the driver will be unable to re-enter.

² It is important to seek out and obtain any required consent from the landlord or co-residents prior to enabling features such as Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries.

How do I add Amazon delivery instructions?

You can add or change delivery instructions by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your Amazon account.
  2. Open your account and select
    Your Addresses
    .
  3. Select
    Delivery Instructions
    for the address where you have installed Ring Intercom.

What are the benefits of activating Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries for you and your neighbors?

Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries lets Amazon take care of verifying drivers delivering Amazon packages to your building. If you activate Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries, drivers must pass a verification check through the Amazon delivery app before being granted time-bound access to your building, allowing them to unlock the entrance and deliver Amazon packages. They will then deliver the package according to the delivery instructions provided in the recipient’s Amazon account, for example leaving the parcel in a safe space. This makes the delivery completely interaction-free, allowing you to receive packages whether home or away.

I have activated Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries, and my package shows as delivered, but I don’t have it. What should I do?

Activating and Deactivating Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries

How do I activate Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries?

You can activate Auto-Verify during the setup of Ring Intercom or in your device settings at any time via the Ring app:

  1. Tap the three lines (☰) in the top right hand corner of the app screen.
  2. Tap
    Devices
    .
  3. Tap your Ring Intercom.
  4. Tap
    Shared Access
    .
  5. Tap Amazon delivery under Auto-Verified Deliveries.
  6. Toggle Access Permission on.

Please note that after activating, it may take up to 14 days before Amazon Logistics can start delivering packages inside your building with Auto-Verify.

If I activate Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries, can I deactivate it in the future?

Yes. You can deactivate the feature at any time via the Ring app:

  1. Tap the three lines (☰) in the top right hand corner of the app screen.

Does Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries cover all deliveries?

Amazon works with a number of carriers to make sure customers receive their items as fast possible. Only orders delivered by Amazon Logistics are eligible for Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries.

Do I need permission before enabling Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries?

Lease agreements, home owner association agreements and co-owner arrangements may restrict the installation and use of devices like Ring Intercom. You should check your residence agreement carefully. It is important to seek out and obtain any required consent from the landlord or co-residents prior to installing the device and enabling features such as Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries.

If instructed by a verified building authority, such as a home owners' association or landlord, Ring will deactivate Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries for the building, to enable compliance with applicable rules. If requested to by a verified building authority, Amazon may inform them that Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries has been activated for your building. Please note that Amazon will never share your identity with the building authority. If you would prefer Amazon not to inform them, please send an email to ring-intercom-support@cs.ring.com stating this preference. Include your full name, your installation address and your MAC address, which can be found by removing the cover of your Ring Intercom or in the Ring app.

How can Amazon customers in my building benefit from Auto-Very for Amazon Deliveries?

If you choose to enable Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries, all residents in your building will also receive verified, time-bound Amazon deliveries inside the building. On arrival inside the building, the Amazon delivery driver will follow the delivery instructions indicated in the parcel recipient’s Amazon account. If the recipient has requested for the parcel to be left inside the building in a safe space, the Amazon delivery driver will comply with this request. All residents can update their preferred delivery instructions at any time via their Amazon account.

Amazon may notify Amazon account holders in your building that Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries has been activated so that they can also benefit from the feature. If you would prefer Amazon not to inform them, please send an email to ring-intercom-support@cs.ring.comstating this preference. Include your full name, your installation address and your MAC address, which can be found by removing the cover of your Ring Intercom or in the Ring app.

What happens if I don't activate Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries, but another Ring Intercom user in my building does?

If another Ring Intercom customer in your building activates Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries, their device will provide verified drivers with time-bound building access to deliver Amazon packages inside the building. The driver will follow your delivery instructions, as provided in your Amazon account.

Safety and Security

If I activate Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries, will my package be left in the lobby of my building?

Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries does not affect the preferred delivery method indicated in the parcel recipient’s Amazon account. On arrival inside the building, the driver will follow the delivery instructions indicated in the parcel recipient’s Amazon account. If you or your neighbour have requested for the parcel to be delivered inside the building in a safe space, the driver will comply with this request. You can update your preferred delivery instructions at any time via your Amazon account. Only orders delivered by Amazon Logistics are eligible for Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries.

Are delivery drivers able to access my building at any time?

No. A delivery driver only gains access after Amazon validates the request via the driver’s Delivery App. Once a driver is verified and building access is granted, delivery drivers have time-bound access to the building, to deliver the Amazon parcel. Once the delivery is complete and the time frame for delivery expires, the driver is unable to re-enter the building without another delivery.

Does activate Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries let delivery drivers see my building access code?

No. With Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries, drivers request and receive entry via the Amazon Delivery App without the need for building access codes.

Can delivery drivers re-enter the building once they complete their delivery?

No. A delivery driver only gains access after Amazon validates the request via the driver’s Delivery App. Once a driver is verified and building access is granted, delivery drivers have time-bound access to the building, to deliver the Amazon parcel.
