Upgrade your Virtual Key to Virtual Intercom (for Residents and Staff)
Use your Ring In as a Virtual Intercom so your visitors can contact you and you can buzz them in from anywhere.
Note: This is only possible if you are a resident of a property that has a Ring In panel installed and active.
First, you may need to upgrade your Ring In service.
How to upgrade your Ring In service
- Tap the menu.
- TapDevices.
- UnderLocks and Access Devices, tap any Ring In-enabled entrance (for example, Front Door or Back Door).
- TapDevice Settings.
- TapRing In Settings.
- Tap theNew Features Availablebanner.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your display preferences.
If you're using a mobile, tap the button below to upgrade your service.
How to change your name in the resident directory
In the Ring app:
- Tap themenu.
- TapDevices.
- UnderLocks and Access Devices, tap any Ring In-enabled entrance (for example, Front Door or Back Door).
- TapDevice Settings.
- TapRing In Settings.
- TapDisplay Preferences.
- TapDisplay Name.
- Edit the text field to change the name.
- TapSavein the top right corner of your screen.
How to hide your name or unit number in the resident directory
In the Ring app:
- Tap themenu.
- TapDevices.
- UnderLocks and Access Devices, tap any Ring In-enabled entrance (for example, Front Door or Back Door).
- TapDevice Settings.
- TapRing In Settings.
- TapDisplay Preferences
- ToggleHide Name or Hide Unitto the on position.
