Upgrade your Virtual Key to Virtual Intercom (for Residents and Staff)

Use your Ring In as a Virtual Intercom so your visitors can contact you and you can buzz them in from anywhere.

Note: This is only possible if you are a resident of a property that has a Ring In panel installed and active.

First, you may need to upgrade your Ring In service.

How to upgrade your Ring In service

  1. Tap the menu.
  2. Tap
    Devices.
  3. Under
    Locks and Access Devices
    , tap any Ring In-enabled entrance (for example, Front Door or Back Door).
  4. Tap
    Device Settings.
  5. Tap
    Ring In Settings.
  6. Tap the
    New Features Available
    banner.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your display preferences.

How to change your name in the resident directory

In the Ring app:

  1. Tap the
    menu
    .
  2. Tap
    Devices.
  3. Under
    Locks and Access Devices
    , tap any Ring In-enabled entrance (for example, Front Door or Back Door).
  4. Tap
    Device Settings.
  5. Tap
    Ring In Settings.
  6. Tap
    Display Preferences.
  7. Tap
    Display Name.
  8. Edit the text field to change the name.
  9. Tap
    Save
    in the top right corner of your screen.

How to hide your name or unit number in the resident directory

In the Ring app:

  1. Tap the
    menu
    .
  2. Tap
    Devices.
  3. Under
    Locks and Access Devices
    , tap any Ring In-enabled entrance (for example, Front Door or Back Door).
  4. Tap
    Device Settings.
  5. Tap
    Ring In Settings.
  6. Tap
    Display Preferences
  7. Toggle
    Hide Name or Hide Unit
    to the on position.
