Troubleshooting Ring Device Batteries Draining Too Fast

Learn what can cause your Ring device battery to require more frequent charging and troubleshooting battery life issues.

Batteries in Ring devices are designed to go months between charges under normal conditions. However, real battery life is dependent on a number of factors such as local weather, number of events captured, and frequency of activation.

The local weather

At temperatures below 40°F, lithium polymer batteries are less effective at holding a charge. Since Ring devices use lithium polymer batteries, when the temperature drops below 40°F, it may be necessary to charge your battery more often.

Battery performance will return to normal once the weather warms up and remains above freezing.
