Upgrading from Video Doorbell Elite to Wired Doorbell Elite (2nd Gen)
Step 1: Removing the Ring Video Doorbell Elite faceplate
- Use the flexible screwdriver bit provided with your Video Doorbell Elite to unlock the security screw at the bottom of your doorbell.
- Important note:If you do not have the flexible screwdriver bit, a Torx T6 screwdriver can be used to unlock the security screw.
- Remove the screw and faceplate.


Step 2: Removing the doorbell from the bracket
- Use a PH2 screwdriver to remove the screws from the holes on the bracket.
- Gently pull the doorbell and wires from the wall.

Step 3: Unplug the Ethernet cable
Unplug the Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port on the back of the doorbell.

Step 4: Disconnecting the doorbell from an in-home doorbell chime (optional)
If you did not have your Video Doorbell Elite connected to the in-home doorbell chime, you can skip this step.
- Ensure power is shut off at the breaker, then use the included 0.07 in (1.8 mm) flat-head screwdriver to loosen the wires in the screw holes.
- Disconnect your doorbell wires from the wire connectors next to the Ethernet port.

Important note: You can use the existing PoE setup you have in place for your Video Doorbell Elite to power your new Wired Doorbell Elite (2nd Gen) or utilize a compatible PoE switch or injector using PoE 802.11af or PoE+ 802.11at.
- A compatible PoE switch or injector is not included with Wired Doorbell Elite (2nd Gen).
