Setting up Amazon Key Access (for residents and staff)

Set up your Amazon Key Access device in the Ring app.

Step 1: Install the Ring app

Download and install the Ring app:

Step 2: Sign in to the Ring app

Sign in to the Ring app using the email address you provided to your property manager/HOA. If that email address is not associated with a Ring account:

  • Ask your property manager/HOA to delete that email address and add the one associated with your
    existing Ring account
    , OR
  • Create a new Ring account using the email address you provided to your property manager/HOA

Step 3: Set up Amazon Key Access

In the Ring app:

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

  2. Tap Set Up a Device at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Tap
    Locks & Access Devices
    .
  4. Tap
    Key Access system
    and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: During setup, when asked Where would you like to set up your Key Access?, select the location where your Key Access is installed. If your Key Access location is not listed, select Add a new Location to add it to the list.

If you have been added as a Key Access user at more than one property, you need to set up Amazon Key Access at all the properties separately. Follow the Set up Amazon Key Access process mentioned above for each property.

If your property doesn’t have a Amazon Key Access panel to use as a virtual intercom, you can still use Key Access and the Ring app to let yourself in with a virtual Key. Learn how to use Amazon Key Access.
