How to link a camera or doorbell to your Chime

Ring Chime, Chime Plus, and Chime Pro play audible alerts in your home when a linked Ring camera detects motion or a linked Ring doorbell is pressed.

Before you start

Make sure you have the following:

• A Ring Chime, Chime Plus, or Chime Pro installed and set up in the Ring app
• One or more Ring cameras or Ring Video Doorbells set up at the same location in the Ring app
• The latest version of the Ring app on your mobile device

Your Chime and Ring cameras or doorbells must be set up under the same location in the Ring app, but they do not need to be in the same room.

How to link a camera or doorbell to your Chime

You can link your Chime to a Ring camera or doorbell from the device settings in the Ring app.

1. Tap the

   menu ☰

2. Tap

   Devices

   .
3. Tap the camera or doorbell you want to link.
4. Tap

   Linked Chimes

   .
5. Select

   Rings

   for doorbell press alerts,

   Motion Detected

   for motion alerts, or both.
6. Tap the music note icon to select a tone for the event.
7. Tap

   Save

   .

Your Chime device will now play the selected tone when that event occurs.

How to customize Chime tones and volume

You can assign different tones to each event type, so you know what triggered the alert without checking the Ring app.

1. Tap the

2. Tap

   Devices

   .
3. Tap your Chime, Chime Plus, or Chime Pro.
4. Tap

   Device Settings

   .
5. Tap

   Chime Alerts

   .
6. Tap the desired device.
7. Tap

   Chime Tone

   .
8. Under the event type you want to change, tap

   Chime Tone

   .
9. Select the desired tone.
10. Tap the

    back

    button.
11. Tap

    Save

    .

The new tone will play the next time that event is triggered.

Important note: Wait until any active tone finishes playing before changing or saving your device settings. If you adjust settings while a tone is playing, your selected tone might revert to the default.

Snooze Chime alerts

Chime Snooze temporarily silences your Chime device for a set length of time.

1. Tap the

2. Tap

   Devices

   .
3. Tap your Chime, Chime Plus, or Chime Pro.
4. Tap

   Device Settings

   .
5. Tap

   Chime Snooze

   .
6. Select a snooze duration from the list of preset times.
7. Tap

   Save

   .

To end Chime Snooze early, return to the Chime Snooze screen and tap Turn off Snooze, then tap Save.
