Tools provided
T25 Security Torx Key | A star-shaped (6 point) driver with a center pin that uses T25 security screws to fasten the Mast Sections and Camera module. |
M4 Hex Key | An L-shaped six-sided wrench that fits 4 mm hex-socket bolts, used to tighten the Mast mounting strap bolts. |
Major subassemblies
Tower Base | The Tower Base is a 400 lb. main housing and the foundation of the Mobile Security Tower. Contains the breaker panel, pre-routed cables, storage box, and battery sled. Foundation for the entire system. |
Mast Assembly | Two pole sections that hold the camera module at a height of 12 feet. The bottom section is marked "Bottom Mast", and the Mast Light is wrapped around the bottom section. The top section is plain. The sections connect with T27 security screws at the joints. |
Camera Module | The Camera Module is a device that sits on top of the Mast Assembly. This part ships in its own box and contains a Ring Elite 360 4K camera, floodlight and status LED ring, on top of a small Mast section. The box should be kept to use for storage and transportation. |
Battery Pack (3600Wh) | The primary power source for the Mobile Security Tower. Up to three battery packs can be installed. The battery packs are 67–70 lbs. each, and have built-in carrying straps, an IN port, and an OUT port. |
Backup Battery Pack (240Wh) | A backup power source that can be used with the plug-in configuration. |
Solar Kit | The Solar Kit, sold and shipped separately, contains four 100W solar panels and mounting hardware. The four additional solar panels accompany the 200W built-in solar panel on the cover of the Tower Base, to complete the solar system to up to 600W total power generation. |
Trailer Kit | The Trailer Kit, sold and shipped separately, is an optional utility trailer to transport Tower easily between locations. The Trailer Kit ships flat and requires assembly. The Mobile Security Tower is placed on the trailer when it is assembled, and is permanently mounted to it as a single piece. |
Pre-assembled components
Electrical Box | The electrical box contains breakers, a cellular modem, a network switch, the tower controller, and other electronics. Only the breakers should be interacted with. Do not remove any cables that are already pre-assembled. |
Tool Box | The tool box is used to store in-box tools, caps and spare parts. |
Tower Base Door | Top door that secures all components inside the Tower Base. |
Tower Feet | Four feet located on each corner under the Tower Base |
Tower Stabilizers | Two 45° outriggers on each side under the Tower Base. |
Tower Stabilizers Feet | Two additional feet at the end of each Stabilizer. |
Ring Logo Light | An illuminated Ring logo on the body of the Tower Base. |
Perimeter Lights | Light strips on the edge of the Tower Base on the front and back. |
Floodlight | A 360° floodlight that is located above the camera. |
Status Light | A 360° light strip that is located underneath the camera, and indicates the status of the device. |
Mast Light | An LED strip that wraps around the mast sections from the Tower Base to the Camera Module. |
Cables
Battery Power Cable Pair | A red and black cable pair, with matching rubber boots. The red cable connects to the battery positive terminal on the controller, one cable per battery. The black cable connects to the battery negative terminal on the controller, one per battery. |
Battery Data Cable | A thin cable with a different connector than the Battery Power Cables. Plugs into the IN port of the battery, and to the Ethernet connector on the outside of the electrical box. This cable is only used for the first battery installed. |
Battery Data Daisy Chain Cable | This cable is used to connect multiple batteries together. Connects from the OUT port on the first battery to the IN port on the second battery. For three batteries, a second Daisy Chain Cable will connect from the OUT port on second battery to the IN port on the third battery. |
Camera Cable Pair | Two twist-lock connectors pre-routed through the mast, one for Ethernet and one for power. Both cables need to be routed through the Mast Sections, and connected to the Camera Module at the end. Align the symbols on the cables and twist to lock. |
Mast Light Power Cable | A pre-routed cable inside the base, attached to the electrical box. Connects to the Mast Light LED strip during Mast assembly. |
Solar Panel Power Cables | Red and black cables with a different wire gauge and connector type than the Battery Power Cables. Four of these cables are pre-wired within the Tower and are used to connect the optional Side Solar Panels. |
Caps, covers, and seals
Weatherproof Cap | The Weatherproof Cap should be installed when the Tower is packed for storage and transportation, and removed when the Tower Mast is deployed. |
Mast Light Bottom End Cap | The Mast Light Bottom End Cap connects the Mast Light to the power cable and weatherproofs the Tower Base. This cap should be installed after the Tower Mast is deployed. This cap is pre-attached to the Bottom Mast Section, at the bottom end. |
Mast Light Top End Cap | The Mast Light Top End Cap should be installed after Tower Mast is deployed. This end cap is pre-attached to the Bottom Mast Section. To install it, slide it all the way up to the Camera Module and attach it. |
Camera Top Cover | Sits on top of the camera floodlight. Twist the cover to tighten or release it. The Camera Top Cover protects the camera from elements and animals. |
Clamps, screws, fasteners, and hardware
Battery Clamp | Sits on top of each battery to secure it in the Tower Base, one per battery. |
Battery Clamp Bolts (Long) | Feeds through the clamp into the threaded holes in the Tower Base, two per battery. |
Battery Clamp Washers (Large) | Slips onto the Battery Clamp Bolts before threading. |
Mast Securing Strap and Bolts | Wraps around the Mast Base and tightens with M4 hex bolts after the Mast is raised. |
Mast Light Caps (Top and Bottom) | Secure the LED mast light strip to the mast. Each collar has one screw. |
Mast Screws | T27 Security Torx screws, with washers for every screw. There are two of these screws and washers per joint between the Mast Base and the Bottom Mast Section, the Bottom to Top Mast Section, and the Top Mast Section to the Camera Module. They should be removed to separate the Mast from the Tower Base during assembly, then reinstalled after positioning. |
Mast Light Cap Screws | Secures the LED strip in place on the Mast. There are two screws total, one for the top collar and one for the bottom collar. |
Buttons, keys, switches, and controls
Physical Key Lock and Keys | Opens the Tower Base door, access to open this lock is required to do any internal work. |
iLOQ Smart Lock and Fob | Optional smart lock that opens the Tower Base door. Like the Physical Key Lock, it is required to have access to open this lock in order to do any internal work. Press and release for the fob to activate, then hold the fob over the lock for three seconds, and rotate the lock to unlock after it authenticates. The Smart Lock will be setup in the Ring app to enable the phone to unlock. |
Tower Setup Button | Located on the side of the electrical box. |
Camera Setup Button | Located between the camera and floodlights. Press the Camera Setup Button to put the camera into setup mode. Press and hold the button to factory restore the camera. |
Breaker Switches | Three electrical switches located inside the electrical box, which control power distribution to the system. Flip the breakers down for the OFF position, flip the breakers up for the ON position. |
Plug-in Port | Power port placed on the opposite side of Ring logo. Uses a plug-in extension cable to power from 120V AC outlet. |
