Information on Unsupported Ring Devices

At Ring, we strive to provide the best possible customer experience. It’s important that we’re able to deliver the latest security and software updates. If your Ring device was recently not supported, we do sincerely apologize.

When we are no longer supporting older devices, the devices will be transitioned to an unsupported state and will no longer be usable.

What happens when your Ring device is no longer supported

  • You will receive an email notice letting you the date your Ring device will no longer function.
  • The device will no longer appear in the app or will appear deactivated in the app depending upon the subscription plan you have.
  • Device features will not be operational.
  • The device will no longer connect to networks.
  • Bug fixes, firmware updates, and firmware maintenance updates will stop.
  • Ring will not offer troubleshooting support for the device.
  • Ring will not offer replacement of the device through any extended warranty.
  • Spare parts for the device will no longer be offered.

For Stick Up Cam (1st Gen): If the FCC ID listed on your device is YOPGS2011MIE, it will no longer function after November 12, 2024

How to check is your Ring device is unsupported

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

  2. Tap more (•••) on the camera you want to access.

  3. Tap your device's Settings.

  4. Tap the Device Health tile.

  5. If the Product Name reads "Support Ending" or "Support Ended" with a date, your device will no longer function at that date.

For Stick Up Cam (1st Gen): If the Product Name now reads “Stick Up Cam (1st Gen) - Support Ending Nov 12, 2024”, the Ring device will no longer function after November 12, 2024.

Subscriptions help for unsupported Ring devices

If your Ring device is covered under a Ring Basic Plan, your plan will automatically cancel at the unsupported device date noted in the email received from Ring and on the Device Health page in the Ring app. A refund will be issued in accordance with our refund policy.

If your Ring device is covered by a more premium Ring subscription, your subscription plan will not be canceled and will continue to cover the other devices at your location for the period associated with your plan and app settings.
