Using Ring Alarm Pro During Power and Internet Outages
Keep your Alarm Pro on and online¹ during outages with backup options to keep your property safe when the power or internet goes out.
Here’s what you need to know:
- If you want to use Ring Alarm Pro when there’s no power source available, you’ll need one or more.
- The internal battery inside the Ring Alarm Base Station has a limited capacity. To conserve power, when the internal battery is in use, Alarm Pro will shut down most Alarm functionality and turn wifi off, even if you have a working internet connection. You will only be able to arm and disarm. Ring Alarm will be triggered by an alarming event.
- To use Ring Alarm Pro without a working internet connection from an internet provider (like a cable company) you’ll need a compatible Ring subscription¹. This will give you 3GB of cellular data each month, and if you opt in to Extra Data, you’ll get as much data as you need.³
- If you run out of data or you are running on the internal battery, Ring Alarm Pro will switch to Alarm Cellular Backup³. This will provide you with limited alarm features, and no wifi service.
