Using Ring Alarm Pro during power and internet outages
Learn how to keep your Alarm Pro online1 during power or internet outages.
Power outage
When the power goes out, the Alarm Pro Base Station will remain powered by its internal battery. The Base Station's internal battery can last up to 24 hours in Low Power Mode. When running on the internal battery, your Alarm Pro turns off most functions and wifi to save energy, even if you have an active internet connection.
While running off internal battery:
- You can arm and disarm your alarm.2
- If you have enrolled in Professional Monitoring3with a compatible Ring subscription, Ring Alarm will send a signal to the monitoring center and request emergency dispatch if triggered.
- Other features won't be available until power is restored.

Power Packs
Ring Power Packs can provide external battery backup for your Alarm Pro Base Station and eero extenders. You can connect up to three fully-charged Power Packs to continue using the Alarm Pro features, including 24/7 Backup Internet, during a power outage. Internet outage
To use Ring Alarm Pro without a working internet connection, you’ll need a compatible Ring subscription.¹ This service will give you 3 GB of cellular data each month. You can opt in to extra data1, if needed. Alarm Pro will automatically switch back to using your regular internet connection when it is restored.
