Ring Alarm and multi-dwelling use

Ring Alarm systems are designed for homes and small-to-medium businesses. They do not currently support multi-dwelling units. Multi-dwelling units include any place where multiple unrelated residential or commercial tenants are located, such as:

  • Apartment buildings
  • Townhouses
  • Condominium complexes
  • Rental retail spaces
  • Office spaces

Each resident or business occupant needs their own Ring account so they can fully access Ring devices in their own space. When landlords set up Ring Alarm for multiple homes or businesses:

  • The landlord remains the account owner
  • Tenants have limited access to system controls
  • Tenants cannot manage key security and privacy settings

Important note: For complete control of your Ring Alarm system, you must be the account owner.
