Access a shared Entrance as an Auto-Verified Guest (for Auto-Verified Guests)

If you have been added as an Auto-Verified Guest by an Amazon Key Access User, accept the invitation sent to your email by following these steps:

  1. Open the email received from Ring with
    Subject Line
    : You've been added as a Ring Auto-Verified Guest.
  2. Tap
    Accept Invite.
  3. Sign in to the Ring web portal using your existing Ring account details or create a new account.
    • Make sure you are using the email address we sent the invitation email to. If you already have a Ring account under a different email address and do not want to create a new one, ask the Amazon Key Access User to send you an invitation to the email address associated with your existing Ring account.
  4. Tap
    Accept
    to accept the invitation or
    Decline
    to decline it.
  5. Download and install the Ring app on your phone:
  6. Sign in to the Ring app.
  7. After signing in, you should see the shared location at the top of the Ring app dashboard and a tile called
    Guest Key
    .
    • If you don't see it, tap the location at the top of the dashboard to select the shared location. If you do not know the name of the shared location, ask the Amazon Key Access User who added you as an Auto-Verified Guest.

After you have accepted the invite, you need to verify your physical presence at the property for your first unlock. Once your presence is verified, you can unlock the shared Entrance(s) directly via the Ring app. To verify your presence, head to the property where you’ve been added as an Auto-Verified Guest and follow these steps: Note: If you're an iPhone/iPad user, make sure your device is up to date.

  1. Look for an Entrance with an Amazon Key Access panel.
    • Ask the Amazon Key Access User who added you as an Auto-Verified Guest to provide the exact location.
  2. Open the Ring app and tap
    Guest Key
    on your Ring app dashboard. You will see the list of Entrance(s) shared with you by the Amazon Key Access User.
  3. Tap the
    Lock
    icon next to the Entrance you are at.
  4. Tap
    Verify.
  5. After you see
    Ready to Tap,
    tap your mobile device against the Amazon Key Access panel.
  6. If the Entrance has been shared with you, your presence will be verified and the door will unlock. If you tap at an Entrance that has not been shared with you, you will need to go to one of the shared Entrance(s) and verify your identity using steps 1 to 5.

If you do not use Amazon Key Access for 4 days, you will need to re-verify your presence using steps 1 to 5.

To access the shared Entrance(s):

  1. Tap the Guest Key on your Ring app dashboard to see your shared Entrance(s).
  2. Tap the
    Lock icon
    next to the Entrance you want to unlock.
    • We recommend that you familiarise yourself with the shared Entrance(s) at the property before using Amazon Key Access as an Auto-Verified Guest.

Note: The Amazon Key Access User who shared access with you will receive a notification on their mobile device when you unlock an Entrance at their location. Also, the Property Manager and Amazon Key Access User will be able to see all your unlock events at the property.
