Using Ring Cheer Chime for your business
Ring Cheer Chime is an application in the Ring Appstore that enables business owners and managers to receive real-time audio alerts for customer tips through a compatible point-of-sale integration.
Ring Cheer Chime uses Ring Chime Pro (2nd Gen) and Ring Chime Plus devices to play customizable chime alerts on when new tip transactions occur. This helps staff stay informed about tips without continuously monitoring the payment screen, honor customer generosity, and create a positive work environment by recognizing staff efforts.

Requirements for Ring Cheer Chime
Before setting up and connecting Ring Cheer Chime for your business, make sure you meet the below requirements:
- Your business uses Square or Toast as its point-of-sale system.
- You or your business has an active Square or Toast account.
- Your business location has a stable internet connection.
- You have a Ring Chime Pro or Ring Chime Plus device set up at your business location.
Setting up Ring Cheer Chime
Step 1: Set up Ring Chime Pro (2nd Gen) or Plus at your location
Make sure to have a Ring Chime device set up at your location. Learn how to set up Ring Chime Pro or Plus
Step 2: Connect the Ring Cheer Chime app
- ClickRing Shopat the top right.
- Hover overServices, then clickRing Appstore
- Search for theRing Cheer Chimeapplication.
- TapConnect App.
- Review and accept data sharing permissions.
Important note: You must consent to data sharing to enable integration with your point-of-sale system.
Step 3: Select devices and location
- Choose the Ring location associated with your business and clickContinue.
- If you are connecting more than one location, choose the first location in this step
- Select the Ring Chime Pro (2nd Gen) or Ring Chime Plus devices that should play alerts for the location selected and clickContinue.
- To connect other locations, clickDevice Accessand select all the Chime devices you want to connect.
- TapSign into open Ring Cheer Chime page.
Step 4: Link your point-of-sale account
Select which point-of-sale system to link with Ring Cheer Chime, and sign in to your Square or Toast account.
For Square users:
- ClickAllowto link Ring Cheer Chime and Square.
For Toast users:
- ClickToast Weband sign in to your Toast account.
- ClickIntegrations.
- ClickBrowse and Purchase Integrations.
- SearchRing.
- ClickAdd Now.
- TapConfirmunder terms and conditions.
- On the My Integrations page, look for RingIntegration and click on thegear icon.
- Copy the Group ID from the Ring Cheer Chime page and paste it under Group ID for all your locations.
- TapApply.
- Go back to Ring Cheer Chime page and clickI’m Done.

Step 5: Configure Tip Alerts
- On Ring Cheer Chime page, look up your Ring Chime device and clickManage/Assign.
- Select the the Square or Toast location you want to link.
- Toggle on Tip Alerts.
- Set your tip threshold using either a percentage or an absolute value.
- Set your preferred alert sound.
- TapApplyto save.
Privacy and data sharing
You must approve data sharing between Ring, and Square or Toast during setup to enable alert functionality.
