Using Ring Cheer Chime for your business

Ring Cheer Chime is an application in the Ring Appstore that enables business owners and managers to receive real-time audio alerts for customer tips through Toast point-of-sale integration.

Ring Cheer Chime uses Ring Chime Pro (2nd Gen) and Ring Chime Plus devices to play customizable chime alerts on when new tip transactions occur. This helps staff stay informed about tips without continuously monitoring the Toast interface.

Requirements for Ring Cheer Chime

Before setting up and connecting Ring Cheer Chime for your business, make sure you meet the below requirements:

  • Your business uses Toast as its point-of-sale system.
  • You or your business has an active Toast account.
  • Your business location has a stable internet connection.
  • You have a
    , and the Ring app on your mobile device.
  • You have a Ring Chime Pro or Ring Chime Plus device set up at your business location.

Setting up Ring Cheer Chime

Step 1: Set up Ring Chime Pro (2nd Gen) or Plus at your location

Make sure to have a Ring Chime device set up at your location. Learn how to set up Ring Chime Pro or Plus

Step 2: Connect the Ring Cheer Chime app

  1. Click
    Ring Shop
    at the top right.
  2. Hover over
    Services
    , then click
    Ring Appstore
  3. Search for the
    Ring Cheer Chime
    application.
  4. Tap
    Connect App.
  5. Review and accept data sharing permissions.

Important note: You must consent to data sharing to enable integration with Toast.

Step 3: Select devices and location

  1. Choose the Ring location associated with your business and click
    Continue.
  2. If you are connecting more than one location, choose the first location in this step
  3. Select the Ring Chime Pro (2nd Gen) or Ring Chime Plus devices that should play alerts for the location selected and click
    Continue.
  4. To connect other locations, click
    Device Access
    and select all the Chime devices you want to connect.
  5. Tap
    Sign in
    to open Ring Cheer Chime page.

  1. Click
    Toast Web
    and login to your Toast account.
  2. Click
    Integrations.
  3. Click
    Browse and Purchase Integrations.
  4. Search
    Ring.
  5. Click
    Add Now.
  6. Tap
    Confirm
    under terms and conditions.
  7. On the My Integrations page, look for Ring
    Integration and click on the
    gear icon.
  8. Copy the Group ID from the Ring Cheer Chime page and paste it under Group ID for all your locations.
  9. Tap
    Apply.
  10. Go back to Ring Cheer Chime page and click
    I’m Done.

Step 5: Configure Tip Alerts

  1. On Ring Cheer Chime page, look up your Ring Chime device and click
    Manage.
  2. Select the Toast location you want to link.
  3. Toggle on Tip Alerts.
  4. Set your tip threshold using either a percentage or an absolute value.
  5. Set your preferred alert sound.
  6. Tap
    Apply
    to save.

Privacy and data sharing  

You must approve data sharing between Ring and Toast during setup to enable alert functionality.
