Setting up your Ring Video Doorbell on an Apple Device

This video will walk you through setting up your Ring Doorbell with an iPhone or iPad

Download the Ring App by visiting ring.com/ios on your Mobile Device

Once the Ring app is installed, open it and select Setup Device.
Then perform the following setup steps near your router or access point.

Step 1

After creating an account, select Ring Video Doorbell.
Step 2

After naming your Ring Doorbell, and setting the location, push the orange button on the back to place it in setup mode. Once the light on the front of your Doorbell is spinning white, tap Continue.
Step 3

Push the home button to leave the Ring app, and launch your Setting app.

Then find your Wi-Fi settings, and connect to the network of your Ring Doorbell, which starts with "Ring-"
Step 4

Return to the Ring app, and the setup process should automatically continue.

If you have more than one Wi-Fi network, select the one closest to where you will be installing your Ring Doorbell.
Step 6

After setup, if the light on the front of your Ring Doorbell is flashing white, then it is updating its firmware.

This process can take a couple of minutes. Wait until it is complete before using your Doorbell.

After setting up your Ring Doorbell, push the front button to run a test call.

First do this near your router. Then try it in the location you will be installing your Ring Doorbell.

Setting up your Chime on an iPhone or iPad

Download the Ring App by visiting ring.com/ios on your Mobile Device

Once the Ring app is installed, open it and select Setup Device.

Open the Ring app and find the Add Device Button located on the main dashboard of the Ring App. Select Chime.

Plug your Chime into a standard wall outlet. Then proceed, in the app, to name your Chime and confirm your location.

Wait for the Ring logo located on the front of the Chime to pulse slowly.

Your Ring Chime is now broadcasting a Wi-Fi network. Open your smartphone or tablet’s Wi-Fi settings and connect to the network labeled Chime-xxxxxx. Return to the Ring App and press Continue.

Select the Wi-Fi network that you would like the Chime to connect to and enter the Wi-Fi password if necessary.
Step 6

Once connected, you will be prompted to select which Devices you would like to pair your Chime to. You can now unplug your Chime and move it anywhere you would like without additional setup.
