Keeping your pets safe with Ring Pet Profiles

With Pet Profiles, Lost Pet Posts, and Search Party, Ring helps people bring lost dogs home faster. 

Creating a Pet Profile

Every pet needs to have their own profile. To create a Pet Profile: 

1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
2. Tap the

   menu

   then

   Neighbours

   , or the

   Neighbours

   shortcut tile on the dashboard.
3. Tap the gear icon. 
4. Tap

   My Pets

   . 
5. Tap

   Create New Profile

   .
6. Enter your pet’s name, then tap

   Next

   . 
7. Select the type of pet (If “other,” specify the type). 
8. Tap

   Add Media

   to upload up to five photos of your pet (at least one photo is required). 
9. Tap

   Next

   . 
10. Fill in additional information, such as gender, breed, weight, and medical details. 
11. Tap

    Next

    . 
12. Tap

    Finish

    . 

Editing a Pet Profile

To edit your pet’s profile, follow these steps: 

1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
2. Tap the

   menu

   then

   Neighbours

   , or the

   Neighbours

   shortcut tile on the dashboard.
3. Tap the gear icon.
4. Tap

   My Pets

   . 
5. Select your pet's profile. From here, you can: 
   • Edit the pet's details. 
   • Link or update the Pet Tag. 
   • Make a Lost Pet Post. 

Creating a Lost Pet Post 

If your pet goes missing, you can create a Lost Pet Post to alert your community. There are two ways to create a Lost Pet Post. 

To create a Lost Pet Post from the Pet Profile: 

1. Open your Pet Profile. 
2. Under the Advanced Options section, toggle

   Lost Pet Mode

   on. 
3. Tap

   Create Post

   . 
4. Fill in all relevant information related to your lost pet. 
5. Specify your contact preferences.

6. Tap

   Preview Post

   . 
7. If present, tap the Search Party banner and turn the toggle on. 
8. Tap

   Start Search Party

   to send it to your community. 

To create a Lost Pet Post as a new post: 

1. Open your Neighbours feed. 
2. Tap the plus icon (+) button in the bottom right to create a new post. 
3. Tap

   Missing Pet

   . 
4. Tap

   Use Pet Profile

   to create a post from your Pet Profile, or tap

   No Thanks

   to create your own Lost Pet Post. 
   • If you tap

     No Thanks

     , you will need to manually fill in all relevant information related to your lost pet. 
5. Specify your contact preferences.

   Preview Post

7. If present, tap the Search Party banner and turn the toggle on. 
8. Tap

   Start Search Party

   to send it to your community.
