Finding your Ring device’s transmit speed
Your Ring device’s transmit speed over wifi, or Ethernet, is the speed of the direct connection between your Ring device and your local network, such as your router, when uploading data like Ring videos.
This speed test is measured in megabits per second (Mbps) and runs periodically to make sure your Ring device maintains a good connection to your local network.

If you receive a device offline message in the Ring app, follow the instructions on the error message to improve your Ring device’s connection.

Viewing your Ring device’s transmit speed from your account at ring.com

- Click the settings icon for the device you want to view the transmit speed for.
- In the Device Health section, you can see your Ring device's Transmit Speed.

Connectivity tips
- Try moving your wifi router closer to your Ring device to minimize the amount of physical objects, like walls or furniture, that might be blocking your wifi signal.
- You can also reboot your router and modem, then wait five minutes before rebooting affected Ring devices.
- Check your router and modem for loose or damaged cables.
- Ensure that your router and any wifi extenders you have are in an open space with a clear line of sight to your Ring devices.
- Ensure your router's software is up to date. Refer to the router's manual or app.
- If your router is old (four years or more), consider replacing it with a newer one to improve performance.
