Installing and using Ring Alarm Outdoor Siren

Outdoor Siren features
- Dusk to Dawn:Turns on the Ring logo light around sunset, and turns it off around sunrise.
- Adjustable volume and duration:Customise when the siren sounds and how loud it will be.
- LED lights:Turn the LED light on and off so that the strobe flashes only during alarm events.
- Wired and wireless charging:Power your Ring Alarm Outdoor Siren from multiple sources, including a Ring Quick Release Battery Pack with a Ring Solar Panel for wireless charging (both sold separately).
Outdoor Siren specifications
- The Outdoor Siren volume is 100 dB at 1 metre when set to the loudest setting and has five volume settings between silent and maximum volume. By default, the siren operates at its lowest volume setting.
- Multiple power options:
- Three D batteries (included)

- Power adapter or transformer with 9-28V, 12W, DC; only use wires with gauges of 16-22 AWG (sold separately)

- The Outdoor Siren is only compatible with DC power for hardwiring.
Important note: The Ring Quick Release Battery Pack is required when using the Ring Solar Panel, but is optional when using DC power.
Setting up your Outdoor Siren
Before installing your Outdoor Siren, set it up in the Ring app. Learn more about setting up and managing your Alarm devices in the Ring app.
Installing your Outdoor Siren
Tools needed:
- Mounting hardware included with the Outdoor Siren (screws, anchors, and mounting bracket)
- Ladder or sturdy platform
- Power drill with 6 mm drill bit compatible with your exterior wall material
- Phillips head screwdriver
Caution: When standing on a ladder, please use extra caution when performing these tasks to minimise the risk of falling.
Tips for installing your Outdoor Siren
- Install your Outdoor Siren where it is visible to anyone passing by.
- Install the Outdoor Siren where you can easily access it.
- Install the Outdoor Siren near its power source, if using an adapter or transformer.
- Install the Outdoor Siren within Z-Wave range of your Alarm Base Station or Alarm Range Extender.
Follow these steps to physically install your Outdoor Siren
Step 1: Install the mounting bracket
Hold the mounting bracket at the intended installation location and level it using the bubble level. Mark your holes using the mounting bracket as a guide. Leave 2.5 cm of space around all sides for easy removal and replacement.
Step 2: Drill holes
Drill holes using a 6 mm drill bit, if using the included optional wall anchors. If mounting on a softer exterior surface, such as wood, you can drill the mounting screws directly into the wall surface.
Step 3: Adjust the tamper arm screw
Adjust the tamper arm screw to make sure that it makes contact with the mounting surface.

Step 4: Connect your chosen power source

- Pull the battery tab when prompted by the app.
- Match the+and–icons to install them correctly.
Quick Release Battery Pack (B)
- Insert the Quick Release Battery Pack, starting with the pin side first.
Solar Panel (C)
- Remove the rubber stopper from the DC jack/outlet on the back of the Outdoor Siren, then connect the Solar Panel to the Outdoor Siren.
- Add your Quick Release Battery Pack.
Hardwired (D)
Caution: Consult a licensed professional electrician if you are not experienced with hardwiring projects.
- Loosen the Outdoor Siren’s positive and negative terminals with a Phillips head screwdriver.
- Open the rubber cover and thread the wires through.
- Connect the positive and negative wires, and securely retighten the terminals.
Plug-In Adapter (2nd Gen) (E)
- Loosen the Outdoor Siren’s positive and negative terminals with a Phillips head screwdriver.
- Open the rubber cover and thread the wires through.

- Connect the positive and negative spade connectors, and securely retighten the terminals.
- Plug the adapter into your indoor outlet.
Step 5: Secure the Siren
After connecting your power sources, replace the back cover and tighten the screws. Attach the Outdoor Siren to the mounting bracket, and tighten the security screw on the bottom.
Step 6: Test connectivity
Run the Outdoor Siren Communication Test to confirm connectivity.
