How to turn Ring Alerts on and off for Ring Intercom devices and Amazon Key Access devices

In the Ring app:

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
  2. Tap the intercom's tile under Devices.
  3. Tap any Key Access-enabled Entrance.
  4. Toggle on or off Ring Alerts.

Can I suppress the ring of my current handset if I have a Ring Intercom?

No, Ring Intercom devices are designed to leave the functionality of your current handset untouched, and therefore the ring function cannot be suppressed.

How to turn Unlock Alerts on and off for Ring Intercom devices and Amazon Key Access devices

In the Ring app:

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
  2. Tap the intercom's tile under Devices.
  3. Tap
    any Key Access-enabled Entrance.
  4. Toggle Unlock Alerts on or off (to the right of the lock icon).

Note: If notifications for the Ring app are turned off in your mobile phone's settings, you'll be prompted to turn them on.

After enabling notifications, wait a few minutes for the changes to take effect.

Troubleshooting audio issues with Ring Alerts and Unlock Alerts

If your Ring Alerts and Unlock Alerts are on but you cannot hear them, try the following steps:

  • Make sure your mobile phone is not on silent mode, and the volume is turned up.
  • Confirm that notifications for the Ring app are enabled in your mobile phone’s settings.
  • Check your Ring app's alert tones:
  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
  2. Tap the intercom's tile under Devices.
  3. Tap
    any Key Access-enabled Entrance

  4. Tap
    Alert Settings
    .
  5. Select
    App Alert Tones
    .
  6. Ensure both
    Ring Sounds
    and
    Unlock Sounds
    are set to an audible tone, not Silent.
