How to find your intercom brand and model and verify compatibility with Ring Intercom

Ring Intercom upgrades existing audio intercom handsets to offer increased peace of mind and convenience for people who live in apartment buildings. While Ring Intercom is compatible with most audio intercom systems, we recommend checking compatibility before purchase. Video intercom systems are not compatible with Ring Intercom.

Where can I find the brand of my intercom?

The brand name is typically printed on the front of the intercom housing.

If you can’t find the brand name on the front of the intercom housing, check either behind the front cover or on the back of your intercom.

To check behind the front cover, remove the front cover.

Note: There are several ways to remove the front cover of your existing intercom, depending on the system you are using. Please see below steps for how to remove the front cover.

Once you have removed the cover, check the following locations:

  • Wall plate
  • Circuit board
  • Inside the handset cover

To check on the back of your intercom, unscrew the handset from the wall and look for a sticker displaying the brand and model number.
