Managing your devices using app shortcuts

What are shortcuts?

Shortcuts are tiles on the Ring app dashboard that offer quick access to features designed to help you more easily manage your Ring devices. Additionally, shortcuts can help you access important information more quickly.

Which shortcuts does the Ring app have?

  • History
: Easily review all activity on your Ring devices.
  • Chimes
: See the status of your Chimes (online, snoozed or offline). You can also snooze (or un-snooze) a Chime from this page and access its device settings.
  • Lights:
See if any lights are on for your connected Ring devices with lights, such as Floodlight Cam Wired Plus or Spotlight Cam Pro. Plus, turn on or off individual lights and lights designated as part of Light Groups.
  • Alarm:
Quickly access a list of your Ring Alarm devices where you can see each of their statuses and change their settings.

Why are my shortcut tiles grey?

A grey shortcut tile means that no devices in that category are currently set up at your location. Tapping on that tile will bring you to a page with information about this device category.

From here, you can tap Set Up (if you already own the device but haven't set it up in the Ring app) or Shop Now to visit an Amazon page where you can purchase the device.

How do I rearrange my shortcuts?

To change the order of your shortcuts, tap the Edit tile in the shortcuts menu. From there you can change the order of your shortcuts by dragging and dropping them. You can also hide unused shortcuts by dragging them down to the Hidden Shortcuts

How do I restore hidden shortcuts?

  1. Open the Ring app.
  2. Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top left of the
    Dashboard
    .
  3. Tap
    Settings
    .
  4. Tap
    Shortcuts
    .
  5. Drag and drop a shortcut from
    Hidden Shortcuts
    to
    Visible Shortcuts
    .

When you go back to your Ring app dashboard, you will see that the shortcut is available again.
