Ring Guard Response

Ring Guard Response1 is a subscription service that sends a licensed security guard from RSPNDR to your home or business when you request one through the Ring app or automatically when your Ring Alarm is triggered.2 The guard inspects the exterior of your property and contacts emergency services if needed.

Eligibility and requirements

  • Requires a standalone Guard Response subscription.
  • Works with Ring Alarm for automatic dispatch and on-demand requests.
  • Works with Ring doorbells and cameras for on-demand requests only (devices sold separately).
  • Includes all Ring Pro features, plus Guard Response dispatch.
  • Currently available in Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, and Cardiff. However, coverage is expanding continuously

Opting in to Guard Response

During your subscription trial period, you receive an email about Guard Response if it is available in your area. Follow the link to subscribe on ring.com.

After subscribing, to turn on Guard Response in the Ring app:

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

Opting out of Guard Response

To turn off Guard Response in the Ring app:

Requesting a guard

On demand (doorbell, camera, and Ring Alarm owners):

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
  2. Tap the Guard Request icon on the dashboard or in Live View.

You can cancel your request via the Ring app at any time before the guard’s arrival, if needed.

Automatic dispatch (Ring Alarm owners only):

If Guard Response is enabled, a guard is automatically requested when your Alarm has been triggered and has been alarming for 30 seconds.

You can cancel your request by disarming your Alarm, if needed.

Cancelling a Guard Request

You can cancel any time before the guard arrives:

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
  2. Tap the guard status banner on your dashboard.
  3. Tap
    Cancel Guard
    .

You can also cancel through RSPNDR's web portal, or by disarming your Alarm for automatic requests. Learn how to disarm your Alarm.

During and after the guard visit

The guard arrives and inspects all exterior areas of your home or business. They will ask any unauthorised person on site for identification.

What to expect:

  • You receive real-time status updates in the Ring app, including the guard's estimated time of arrival (ETA).
  • Tap the red banner in the Ring app, then
    View Status
    to open the RSPNDR web view and check the guard's location.
  • If escalation is needed, the guard requests emergency response (police, fire, or ambulance) and calls you.
  • Guards will not enter your property without your explicit consent.⁴
  • You receive a final incident report with photos by email after the visit.

Guard request was successfully cancelled by the customer. This can be done through the Ring app, RSPNDR’s portal or by disarming the Ring Alarm.

Important note: Guards are not a substitute for emergency services. If you experience an emergency, contact emergency services immediately by calling 999.

Ring reserves the right to suspend or terminate Guard Response service for accounts that exhibit patterns of misuse or abuse, including excessive, fraudulent, or non-emergency dispatches, in accordance with our Terms of Service.
