Night Vision in Ring devices
Night Vision is a dual-mode imaging capability built into some Ring cameras and doorbells that automatically adapts to changing light conditions.
- Colour in low light:When dim lighting is present, the camera captures true-colour video so you can see real details like clothing and vehicle colors.
- Black and white in no light:When the environment goes fully dark, the camera automatically switches to sharp black and white infrared imaging for clear, detailed footage.
The transition between modes happens automatically with no manual adjustment needed.
Colour Night Vision in previous Ring devices
Previous versions of Ring Doorbells and Cameras have the option to turn Colour Night Vision on or off in the Ring app. Colour night vision adds colour to video in low light for improved clarity and motion detection. With the feature turned off, your Ring device will show video captured at night in black and white.
