Troubleshooting issues using the Ring app

When using the Ring app or, here are some tips if you experience issues with signing in, resetting your password, or the overall performance of the application.


Troubleshooting issues signing in to the Ring app

You might receive messages or errors when attempting to enter your password or complete the sign-in process in the Ring app.

If the app prompts you to create a new account when signing in, make sure you're using the same email address from when you first created your Ring account.


Password issues

“Invalid email or password” message when entering your Ring password:

  1. Verify that you are entering your email and password correctly. Avoid using autofill, and type the email and password manually.
  2. If you still cannot sign in, tap
    Forgot your password?
    and follow the instructions in the app to complete the password reset process.
  3. If you continue to receive the “Invalid email or password” message, try these steps:
    • Clear the cache and cookies on your mobile phone or tablet’s browser.
    • Attempt to sign in on a different mobile phone or tablet.

“Invalid Password Reset Token” error:

Request a new password reset link. Make sure you are only using the password reset link from the most recent Ring email.


Sign-in issues

If you see the "Cloud server unreachable” error message, try changing your network settings:

  1. Go to the settings on your mobile phone or tablet.
    • If wifi is enabled, turn wifi off and try to sign in using cellular data.
    • If cellular data is enabled, turn cellular data off and try to sign in using wifi.

If you are unable to press Continue while signing in on an iPhone or iPad:

You might need to adjust the privacy settings on your iPhone or iPad. Try these steps:

  1. Go to Safari settings.
  2. Tap
    Advanced.
  3. Enable
    Javascript.
  4. Disable
    Block all Cookies.
  5. If you are still unable to sign in, tap the button at the bottom of the app that says,
    Having trouble? Sign in here.

Troubleshooting app performance issues

If you experience issues with the app freezing or closing unexpectedly, or you are unable to access Ring device features, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Disable any virtual private network (VPN) apps.
  2. Restart your mobile phone or tablet.
  3. Uninstall and reinstall the app from your mobile phone or tablet.
