No. The Spotlight Cam Solar Panel is specifically configured to work with Spotlight Cam and Stick Up Cam Battery. The configuration of a Ring Doorbell including the mounting bracket and the wall get in the way of the connection.
Can I use the Solar Panel inside?
While there is nothing stopping you from setting up your Solar Panel indoors, indoor light sources may not provide enough energy to charge your Solar Panel.
Is the Solar Panel weather resistant?
Yes. The barrel connector includes a special sealed plug that keeps water out of the barrel connector port.
I live in an area that gets mostly cloudy, rainy days. Will the Solar Panel work for me?
Yes. The Solar Panel will work fine even on cloudy days.
Installation
Where can I mount the Solar Panel?
The Solar Panel can be mounted anywhere on a wall or a roof, but should be placed in an area that gets at least a few hours of sun each day. When mounting the Solar Panel, be sure to look out for overhanging branches or the shadows of nearby branches that may block the sun.
How do I mount the Solar Panel?
You can mount the Solar Panel directly into wood using the provided screws and screwdriver. If you are mounting to brick, concrete, or stucco, do the following:
- Mark the holes where you wish to mount your the Solar Panel.
- Drill a hole for the anchors using the provided drill bit.
- Insert the anchors.
- Use the screws to secure the mount.
